5 Baby Registry Items I Wish I'd Had

5 Baby Registry Items I Wish I'd Had

Most moms-to-be spend hours on end creating and editing their baby registry. There’s so many items needed, as well as seemingly limitless new technology for everything as simple as a breast pump. When you search online for registry guides, there’s so many options and opinions that it’s hard to find one that is all-encompassing. I thought I had done a pretty good job on my registry, honestly because my husband is a very good researcher. But there were still some items that I now swear by that didn’t make the cut (mainly because I didn’t know about them at the time). This is that list of things I purchased after my son was born that I can’t live without… because sometimes, you just need the life experience!

Baby Brezza

I didn’t originally intend to use much formula, but when my son came out weighing over 9lbs, it was evident early on that I simply couldn’t produce enough for him without supplementation. For a long time (months) I mixed the formula myself (gasp!) not realizing how much better life could be. Finally, I gave in and pulled the trigger on a Baby Brezza to try and speed up the bottle-making process. This was an absolute life changer. The bottle is made instantly and comes out at a perfectly warm temperature. Worth every penny.

Leachco Baby Pillow

Everyone always has the Dock-a-tot on their registry, but what they really need is the Leachco baby pillow. My girlfriend told me about this and I trusted her.. and this got used a LOT. It’s the perfect size and shape for a newborn, allowing them to sit up in a comfortable position (my baby didn’t LOVE laying down flat in the Dock-a-tot all that much). It’s just an easy put-them-anywhere necessity.

Elvie Catch

I could talk forever about my Elvie wireless breast pump and how amazing it is, but this is for the items that DIDN’T make my registry, and another insane Elvie product is the Elvie Catch. Instead of a Haaka, which can be used on the other breast to catch extra breastmilk as you’re breastfeeding, the Elvie Catch slips right into your nursing bra. So much more comfortable and easy.

My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow

Everyone gets the Boppy or the Nook and I understand why: marketing and appearance. But the Boppy just doesn’t work. It doesn’t fit around the body or give enough support for the baby while nursing. After I was past the point of frustration, I decided to try the My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow since it was the highest rated. Those ratings were deserved. It was large enough to bring the baby up to the breast and also has a velcro wrap so it doesn’t slip. Amazing.

Skiphop Activity Center

I’m not sure how I ended up without an activity center on my registry (probably because my husband hates clutter) but when my son turned around 5 months it became clear he needed something he could sit/stand in to play. This one has nice neutral colors and my son is absolutely obsessed with it. It entertains him for such a long time and has helped strengthen his legs and neck.

Thanks to all the mom friends who nudged me towards these items! I’m sure I’ll be finding more and more things I missed and expanding the list.
